— Presentation of the Risk Sciences Award, Fondation Optimind

This event rewards end-of-studies work that enhances understanding and knowledge of insurance risks. Corentin Gouache received the jury’s special mention for his thesis on “Stochastic generator of earthquakes in a low-to-moderate seismicity context: from data to hazard. The case of Metropolitan France”.

— 15th Carthage Insurance Meeting “Cyberattacks, Pandemics, Climate Change… What insurance solutions?, Carthage 2022

During this one-day conference, CCR presented “The insurance GAP in the face of climate risk”.

During this working group, CCR presented “Application of machine learning to drought modelling”.

25 FEBRUARY

— 2022 P&C Day, Institute of Actuaries

This scientific morning event was split into three themes: cyber risk, climate change and methods of Machine Learning. CCR participated in the round table on “Machine Learning: from promise to reality”.

— Insurance and NBS’ round table, Merlin Project

CCR participated in this round table on the European Merlin project which aims to highlight good practices on freshwater restoration to implement solutions such as nature-based solutions (NBS Solutions).

This conference is structured around three round tables on three different topics: climate, savings and health. CCR participated in the climate roundtable.

At this event, CCR presented “A History of Cyclones in the French Antilles”.

AIX-EN PROVENCE

— Feedback day of the ANR PICS research project, CEREMA Aix.

During this day of feedback, three themes were addressed: flood forecasting and modelling, the representation of flooded areas, the estimation of flood impacts. CCR presented “Implementation of an insurance claims modelling chain”.

— CCR CAT Day “What adaptations to climate change?”, CCR

CCR CAT Day brings together scientists, insurers, urban planners and institutional players to discuss the insurance issues associated with catastrophic risks. Several topics were covered, including climate risk prevention, adaptation of compensation schemes and crisis management.

This event, with round tables, workshops and presentations, brought together the territory’s stakeholders to share their experiences and the development of prevention recommendations. CCR presented “Extreme phenomena: towards a better understanding of the impacts locally and nationally”.

At this conference on the development of digital tools for geological sciences, CCR presented “Quadrangular adaptive meshing for wave simulation in homogenized media”.

— Regional day on “Adapting to climate change”, ALTERRE Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

During this one-day event dedicated to the actions implemented in the territories by stakeholders to deal with climate change, CCR made a presentation on “Financing adaptation, methods to be invented?”.

— Defence of the thesis of Dorothée Kapsambelis

This thesis in partnership with the Institut Agro-Rennes, Météo-France and CCR, is called “Modelling extreme climate events on agricultural production by 2050. Application to economic risk management”.

— IAMG 2022 Congress, IAMG

This congress is the scientific meeting place for researchers to discuss mathematical geosciences. CCR presented “Quadrangular adaptive meshing for wave simulation in homogenized media”.

— Conference “Taxes and catastrophes: environmental approaches to taxation”, Caen University

The aim of this conference is to combine two research themes: the history of taxation and the history of the environment. CCR presented “The Nat Cat scheme standing the test of time”.

For the 2022 edition, CCR made a presentation on “The exposure of the French Mediterranean arc to forest fires”.

— Assises Nationales des Risques Naturels, MEET

This event is a time for exchanges between prevention players to strengthen a joint risk culture. CCR participated in the round table on “In the context of climate change, how can we forecast and prepare for changes in natural risks?” and organized a side event on prevention efficiency.

— Scientific Day “Understanding and taking ownership of the key messages of the 6th IPCC report”, Météo & Climat

After an introduction on the conclusions of the 6th IPCC report, the event focused on the current state of impacts and their short-term evolution, mitigation solutions and how to adapt. CCR participated in the round table on “Adapting to a changing climate”.
