WARNING AND PREVENTION
Work has been carried out in the framework of the ANR PICS research project to use rainfall forecasts to feed the CCR flood damage model. These tests have shown the relevance of these products, which can predict the amount of future damage by several hours. They can also be used to pinpoint the most affected areas early on, which could be very useful for crisis management players.

The models developed by CCR are used to measure the financial consequences of natural disasters. These models can be adapted to consider prevention measures and assess their impact on different scales (risk, commune, etc.). Thus, they have been used to carry out costbenefit analyses of these measures and several illustrations are provided in this article.
